Chocolate truffles anyone? If you’re stuck inside and happen to have these ingredients on hand, you’re in luck!

We thought a delicious chocolaty treat might brighten up your weekend, so we are sharing this 2-ingredient recipe you can make in less than 10 minutes.

We have been eating these as a “sweet” ending to a meal or a mid-day snack.

Using only dark chocolate and avocados, this recipe packs a huge nutritional punch:

Avocados: fiber, heart-healthy fats, vitamin E, folate, and more potassium than a banana
Dark chocolate: fiber, antioxidants, magnesium, and the anti-asthmatic compounds theobromine and theophylline

Intrigued? Here’s the recipe:

  • 1 (3 1/2 ounce) dark chocolate bar, no less than 72%
  • 1 large ripe avocado (this would probably work with frozen avocado but we haven’t tried it)
  • shredded coconut, sesame seeds, crushed walnuts, etc (optional, for rolling)

Melt the chocolate in the microwave or warm oven, and mash in the avocado until the two are well combined. Put in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Once the mixture is a little firm, roll into 1″ balls with your hands. That’s it! Store in the fridge and they will keep for about 5-7 days. Feel free to roll in shredded coconut or crushed nuts or seeds if you have them on hand. Enjoy!
