We often get asked about our thoughts on wine. We have worked with many women who tell us that continuing to drink wine is a non-negotiable in their health journey.

Our overall philosophy is to help women incorporate their “non-negotiables” into a healthy eating plan.

That being said, we are always on the lookout for the healthiest (and most enjoyable) versions of these non-negotiables, and that includes wine!

So, if you’re a wine lover, listen up. Especially now if you find yourself drinking more than usual (wink wink).

First off, it’s important to know that there’s a downside to most conventional wines.

In the US, wine producers can use up to 76 different additives in wine without disclosing any of them on the bottle.

These include additives from defoaming agents, artificial colorings, extra sugar, high fructose corn syrup, GMO bacteria/yeast, sulfites and ammonia – yuck 😝.

If supporting your body with clean, organic food (when possible) matters to you, then it makes sense to pay attention to what you’re drinking too . . . especially if it’s something you do on a regular basis.

This is why we were so happy to learn about a company called Dry Farm Wines.

To be honest, neither of us drink a lot of wine, not only because of the reasons mentioned above, but because we don’t feel good when we drink it (mostly headaches, even from only a single glass).

We were thrilled to learn that this company follows strict guidelines including:

  • zero to minuscule addition of sulfites or ammonia (goodbye hangovers)
  • no chemical additives for aroma, color, flavor
  • handcrafted small batches
  • natural, sustainable, or Biodynamic farming (grown without chemicals)

Another bonus? These wines are very low in sugar, which means they do not lend themselves to blood sugar spikes (woohoo)! This is really important to take into consideration, especially after 50, since blood sugar issues are at the root of not only many chronic health issues, but weight resistance as well.

Dry Farm Wines have a mixture of red, white, rose, brute, and orange (never heard of orange wine? check it out)!

Oh and by the way, they are delicious! Yep, we are happy to report we sampled a few of the wines ourselves (with no ill effects) before sharing our news.
